Religious Instruction lessons in US public schools c. 1945 were as controversial as they are in Australia today. In 1945, Vashti McCollum filed a historic Supreme Court lawsuit that would forever change the relationship between religion and public schools in America—and turn this young housewife from Central Illinois into an unlikely champion of the ‘wall of separation’ between church and state. This 57 minute multi Emmy awarded 2010 documentary is a ‘must-see’.

WHY GILLARD’S BORN-AGAIN NSCP IS A SHAMEFUL SHAM

On September 7, 2011, Peter Garrett launched the ‘new’ extended/expanded National School Chaplaincy Program to include ‘secular student welfare workers’. Garrett’s wily announcement did the trick, and many a media hound was thereafter thrown off the scent. However, a forensic examination of the ‘new’ program reveals not merely ‘more of the same’, but ‘more of the same, and much worse’.
